This week, every student at North and South Todd received a pumpkin to take home with them. The pumpkins were donated by Shea and Jerry Wayne Simons of Simons' Farms. Students had the opportunity to use these pumpkins to learn about the spiny defense mechanisms built into the stalks of some varieties of pumpkins and also that those little spines help collect the morning dew which helps provide water to the roots.
