Welcome Back, South Todd Cardinals!
We are excited and ready to begin a new year at South Todd Elementary School. It has been a busy summer! Our teachers and staff have been preparing fun and exciting learning experiences for our students and our custodians have done a great job getting the school ready for your return. You will notice some new faces at STES this year; Beth Belcher - Librarian, Deborah Taylor, Preschool Teacher, and Crystal Murrey – Preschool Assistant.
Our Back to School event is Thursday, August 2. Kindergarten is 5:00 to 6:00 and Grades 1-5 is 6:00 to 7:00.
This summer, our teachers have attended professional learning that focuses on science instruction, a book study – “Understanding Poverty, by Ruby Payne”, and using data to guide instruction.
The theme for this year is "Champion". This is based on our belief that a positive attitude can affect how you approach and learn from challenges. Chose a positive attitude as you give, love, and serve each other.

You can be a part of the South Todd family and our academic journey by volunteering, mentoring, or reading to a student. We have many opportunities for you to show your support for education here at STES and we encourage your involvement. I look forward to working with you this year.
